Art Resale

There is a market for resellers for used art that is simply prints or originals from lesser known artists as well as from famous artists.  When reselling art, it is important to look at the condition of the art piece and the size.  If the art will be shipped, it is important to remember that shipping can get quite costly for larger and uncommon sizes and this expense may not be what a buyer wants to pay for.

There are plenty of shippable pieces of used art at resale and thrift stores.  I've sold may pieces of such art.  It's hit or miss.  Some may want desert scenes, plant pictures, landscapes, Roman or Greek architecture, animals, Comic book art, and so forth. It's hard to say what will sell as art purchases are based on individual tastes and needs.

With all of this said, a good deal on a nice piece of art might be worth the flip.  Checking on the art with a quick check on what sells before purchase can help.  Make sure the art is in good condition and not fading or if original paint, not pealing or chipping or cracked.  Make sure the art is easy to hang as well (has hooks or wire to do so).

Here is an example of comic book art that is a good price that could be sold to someone interested in such art and the size was reasonable for shipping.  You could mark this up to $10 to $15 and make a profit and save your buyer some money from what they would have had to pay if bought brand new.
