There is a market for doll collectors.  There are many brands such as Barbie, Ginny, Madame Alexander, Tonner, Effanbee, Story Book, Chatty Cathy, American Girl, Bradley, Bratz, Monster High (big seller), Leprechauns, Blythe, and many others.

Do your research before you buy the dolls.  Also be warned, they grow on you and you get attached to them so have a good intention of what dolls you are going to search for and then resell.  

Madame Alexander Cissy dolls are currently very good resellers at this time.  Tonner dolls are also very good resells.  Do your research so you don't pay too much and can resell for a profit.

Going to a doll show is also a good way to find out what sells and what people like.

Many very old porcelain dolls made by German and French doll makers (Kestner, Bru Jumeau, etc.) are worth a lot of money, but the newer porcelain dolls that were mass produced are harder to resell and not as desirable.  

There are several platforms to sell the dolls on.  Ruby Lane also tends to have a lot of the higher priced dolls for sale as does Ebay.
