Duchess Dolls
Duchess Dolls get mixed in with Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls (1930s and 1940s) quite often. They are not the same product or from the same company. These dolls are lighter and often have blinker eyes. They may be marked with the Duchess Doll stamp on the back or may not. They are still collectible and especially in lots. They are from the 1950s and sometimes are labeled as Dolls of All Nations since a series with that name was made.

I love and collect only this type of doll and I've been researching them for many years now. Most of the dolls are not Duchess Dolls, I actually only see 3, maybe 4 of those and they're not lighter as they're hard plastic. Only those with painted eyes are from the 40's, the rest are all from the 50's and I think I see a couple that are from the 70's. I also see a few Virga Dolls. There aren't any Nancy Ann's here either. It's just a mixed lot it would take forever to break it down as to who is who. This type is considered to be "Display Dolls" not meant to be played with. A few do look like "Dress Me Dolls" in homemade cloths. They eyes were advertised as "moving eyes". In truth, this type has not been collectible for several years now, especially in lots, there's very little desire for them these days.
